Sunday, July 23, 2006I dream a highway
It's been so long since I've posted, I've almost list the knack of it. Oh well, here goes: I'm on a business trip. My first ever, and to Cape Breton. Every inch of it: I've been sent to do title searches as each of Cape Breton's four land registries. Port hood, Baddeck, Arichat and now Sydney. I must say, it's been a long time since I've seen Port Hood, and it's more beautiful than I remember. I'll have to see it again, and soon. So I spent the weekend at home, waiting for the Sydney office to open tomorrow. Sitting at the living room table, I realized that it's been a long time since I've heard the wind in the trees. Our downtown apartment might have a lot, but it didn't have trees. This is about to change. Ever since our roomate Angie told us she'd be moving in with her boyfriend, Dan and I have been on the lookout for a new place. And you should see it. Actually, you should see our old place first, which is conveniently recorded on our landlord's website. Keep a lookout for an inhabitant of this exotic locale: http://www.444rent.com/details.asp?BuildingID=H63&UnitID=1 I will miss the place, in some ways. It's a block from the boardwalk, which has been particularly nice in the summer. But it won't compare to this: http://www.sabbaticalhomes.com/OfferedDetails.aspx?id=23781 Oh boy! A house! Wheeee! Mind you, I wasn't so enthusiastic a week ago. And I still feel some pangs of anxiety: what if the heating bill is crazy? What if our new roomate is same? But right now, sitting in my parent's house, I'm being reminded of the upside to the house. It will be nice to sample the non-student life, even if it will only be for a year. Anyway, must get back to work. And then, perhaps... the beach? 0 comments
