Sorry, "X3." The big deal with respect to this movie, at least for Halifax, is Ellen Page. I won't spoil the movie for those of you who want to see it, but something happened in the theatre that made me think: Why do audiences laugh at (what I consider) inappropriate moments? So Ellen Page's character, who looks to be about 14, is in the midst of rescuing this special mutant, etc. etc. with large, hirsute and nominally unstoppable 'Juggernaut' in close pursuit with murderous intention. She manages to stop him for a minute using her power (walk through things, though I think that being able to sit through things would be a really useful power) and he says, "Don't you know who I am? I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!" Instant laughter.

It reminds me of when I saw "Gladiator" in Paris. The audience clapped when Russell Crow stabbed somebody they didn't like, e.g. the very bad emperor who wanted to sleep with his sister. Can you help but think that movie audiences are very, well, Roman?
