Jet....lagged

The nicest thing about travel is the appreciation it gives you for home.
[Italy: "I'm in Italy! With Dan!"--> it was so good to see him again, I still can't believe it]. France and Italy and everywhere were amazing, delicious, sexy, awe-inspiring, etc, etc
But I really enjoyed that first cup of Tim's...
Which I consumed while trying to decide on furniture. Still undecided. So I'm roughing it on my new [very new] floor in a very old house. The apartment is gorgeous in a way I've come to enjoy this summer: it has character.
But it also has all those North American conveniences I've come to miss: lots of hot water, big huge bathroom, space. My own room! Inconceivable! I haven't slept in my own room for four months!
Angie did good: she's a fabulous house hunter.
I don't have much time to savour it quite yet. I got here Thursday night, Dan arrives tonight, we leave for Miscou tomorrow. I haven't even begun to unpack, and I'm already taking a break. I hate moving so very much.
But we'll be back in about a week. So if there's anyone left in Halifax, drop me a line. Angie and I just might have a housewarming party while Dan's in the midst of the craziness known as orientation.
Tim's! Wake me, please!

In a bid for immortality, the Vauban house posed for family photos on Sunday. This is the result:

To recap: that's Brendon top left, Robin top centre, Sara top right [that's the window to our room]. Steph is bottom left, Andrew and I centre and Alison right.
I loved this house. I wish I could take it home with me. It was... luxurious. And, at times, frat-like.

La Fete De La Bastille

I'm organizing my pictures before we leave, and I found this treasure:

In Medias ResPosted by Picasa

I think I like it. It's what we really look like, when we're not ready for the camera.
-Paul and Karyn are bickering as per usual: "let's stay on the Champ de Mars" "No, let's go to Le Crocodile"
-I'm phasing out, rembering the last night at Le Crocodile
-Alison's dead tired, having run from the bulls in Pamplona the day before
-Viviane is puzzled: "Wait.. I'm sorry... what?"
-Sara's mom is enjoying the whole scene.

That's us! As we really are!
