Thursday, January 27, 2005A Dry Cold
Well... last week at this time I was arriving in Montreal. I can't believe it: that weekend totally lived up to the hype. And while the weather conspired to delay me, it also conspired to save me.
Yup, we had another bout of winter storms in Halifax, starting Thursday afternoon. I opted out of Contracts to make it to the airport an hour early [my flight ended up leaving, what, 3 hours late?]. But no harm: my classmates tell me they were in Contracts for five minutes before the power went out. Aaaannnddd my Monday classes, which I was also going to miss, also got cancelled because of the winter storm. It's not just insane good luck. It makes for a completely guilt free weekend. And it was wonderful. Thursday's delicious supper. Friday's insane cold Costco run, counterbalanced by the heat of a dozen dozen bagles in my lap. "Feels like children" Mmmm... Saturday's marathon of debate draining me, a collective night out waking me up again. Sunday morning, breakfast with Arran, a baaaad final round. Go and pizza. For a while there Chris and I were doing OK. And I think we could've dropped Joanna and Medbve [whatever]. Another day. To make withdrawl a little easier, Halifax has been very engaging this week. Pith and Substance Saturday, rehersals non stop. I was at school for 14 hours today! Thank God for warm meals. [Thanks Eddie]. But I do miss everyone in Montreal. Thank you... spring break is just around the corner. I can't wait. 0 comments
