Friday, November 19, 2004My Sprain is Sprung
When my alarm went off at 7:30 this morning I had serious doubts about the benefits of going to court today. "Maybe I should just stay here, in my nice warm bed" says I. Ah, but my reliable guilt kicked in, and I'm glad it did: the court of appeal was fun, and the justices were very approachable.
Still, I'm dressed to the nines today, and may have suffered permanent injury because of it. Semi-permanent. I'm a wuss. My foot fell asleep while we were doing Q & A with the bench. So when they left and I stood I completely rolled my ankle. It now looks something like an orange. No squash or jogging for me. But I maintained the heels: the Nova Scotia firms await upstairs. So I'm off to learn about work. Everyone's been very nice this week, for which I'm grateful. It's been a sequence of movie nights and Nova Scotian bands. I need Stacy to harass me, but I feel so much better for it. Happy Birthday to Arran! I know it's going to be a great party, you lucky girl. 0 comments
