Evensong is such a beautiful part of the day. I love the contrast. How the bright lights of rooms and signs shine out against the dusk behind them, barely competing with the flash of reflected sunset off walls and roofs. Everything is on fire, the day flares up one last time.
Logically dawn should be even better, since the day is new and just beginning. But lights are out then, and I am never as aware as I am at the start of night. *sigh* Today was fiercely bright. I assumed it was chilly, [the two go hand in hand in winter] but that's a Montreal habit. Nova Scotia can be both warm and bright. I'm so glad I went coffee fetching at 3:30. The Trident called my name [as did yet another Gibson novel, freshly purchased] but I biked some extra blocks for the pleasure of Halifax's up and down hills. I've stopped being scared by even the steepest runs, but they still have the power to thrill. The sun has set, the glow of windows now completely outshining reflected light from the west. Back to exams. 0 comments
