Sunday, October 03, 2004Like I Said I Would
Part of what I both love and loathe about my time here is the frantic pace. When I was at McGill I was constantly busy, but I didn't have anything to do. I wish I had placed less value on my time and enjoyed myself a little more. There was no way I was going to do my papers a week early, and I had accepted that I might have made better use of the time I spent flogging my procrastinating mind.
But now... I'm finishing my readings an hour before class, doing reviews during my lunch breaks. There's no way I can procrastinate, and so... I don't. I didn't realize how draining it was to anticpate a deadline until I was working from moment to moment. It's great. [most of the time. I sometimes miss reading for pleasure. Takes forever to write a proper letter] Weekends are a regression to my old ways. I always tell myself I'm doing my homework in advance, only to get distracted by good times. Last weekend Em, Mike and the 'rents had drinks with me at the Economy, we went to Lunenberg, ect, ect. This weekend: Settlers game with Sodales, law potluck and "Cellular" Mwa ha ha. Don't watch Cellular unless you're in the right mood: our brains were bruised from the exacting logic of class. Watching a brainless film was just what the doctor ordered. I really should get around to unpacking my boxes this weekend. I swear, I will... just as soon as I run out of more interesting things to do :) 0 comments
