A Double Shot of Halifax...

.. is how Sarah Harmer described her time here at the concert last night. I'm very very glad I went with Stacy: it was the perfect end to a perfect day.
Today is the first day I really have to myself in the new place. I have a list an arm long of stuff to do: sweep the floors, unpack my boxes, DO MY HOMEWORK, but here I am instead... blogging. I think I might have too much to do. I think I might be overwhelmed.
So, to save on procrastinatination, I will borrow from a recent e-mail to describe my day. Hope you like it!
I rolled out of bed and got ready for the orientation cruise aboard the tall ship, which was a pretty good time. I could get used to this whole lawyer thing: cruises with breakfast abord, chatting it up. Well, I could do without the chatting, seeing as I still have introverted tendencies, but all in all it's good.
When we got back the organizers encouraged us to visit the farmer's market. It's huge! And it's in the Keith's brewery, which is kinda funny. Best of all, it's only about 10 minutes away from the apartment, and they have *everything*.
Wanda was supposed to take us out to Bayer's Lake to pick up curtains... but she was busy. So she lent me her car {!} We spent the afternoon looking around. Unfortunately we're still curtainless, but I have some prices to compare now, and we can always go back... assuming we can get the car again. Otherwise it's ridiculously far.
Everything closed at 6, which is partly why we didn't finish our list. The afternoon flew by so fast! We capped it off with a visit to East Side Mario's. One of my favourite things is fresh warm bread: I was on cloud nine.
Thennn... we went to the Sarah Harmer concert at 8. Fabulous! She's definitely a "chicks dig it" musician, but we had a great time. Rather than pub crawl after wards we watched a movie. Dan [Stacy's man is called Dan, which is hilarious] called at 1, which made Stacy very happy. They made plans to go to the beach, which is where they are now.
I am thrilled with my roomate. She's not only good to live with, she's actually fun to hang out with too. I think we might become very good friends, an unexpected bonus.
Much thanks go out to Dan for getting the road trip photos out for the rest of us. Wow. It was... amazing.
