According to Montreal, today is St. Patrick's day. Which is interesting for we, the university population, because this means we effectively get to celebrate the event twice. See, Montreal schedules it's parade [3rd biggest in North America, after NY and Chicago] on the weekend. And most working-types can't drink their faces off on a Wednesday. So they drank their faces off today.
Ahh, but here at McGill we make our own schedules. We can drink whenever we like! If you happen to prefer being sober, as I usually do, this is still quite entertaining, as you get to observe respectable people making fools of themselves, which is what I've always liked best about a good party. Anyways... in the course of the parade I had the good fortune to see Mr. Paul Martin, marching as part of the LaSalle delegation. Mr. Martin is, of course, the MP for LaSalle which helps explain why such an ordinary riding should have such an extraordinary pool [apparently the facility boasts two olympic-sized basins.] At any rate, I was disappointed in Mr. Martin's lack of entourage. I wonder if it's a poor reflection on Canada, that no one would bother assassinating our leader, and thus he merits no security at all? PS: full points to Mary! She wins the prize! These brownies can be as special as you want.. however my job application requires me to abstain. They test us for drugs, so now would be a bad time to start. For me. But not to worry: these brownies are almost a drug in of themselves.. mmmm. 0 comments
