Everyone! Well, I like to hope so anyway.
It turns out that dry sex is very popular in Africa. Weird, no? This means that condom use is actually counter-productive for the women in question. Latex is an irritant, especially when not lubricated. Plus condoms are more likely to break with such a lot of friction. So latex irritates tissue, making it easier for the virus to get in the bloodstream, and the condoms sometimes break, allowing the virus to escape. The theory is that these women have anti-HIV factors lining their girly-areas which get rubbed away by latex. Still, they must've been pissed at all those health workers who got them to use condoms in the first place. 0 comments
